Church settings control how VisiConnect operates for your organization. These settings affect check-in workflows, visitor status progression, follow-up automation, and more.

Accessing Church Settings

Only administrators can access church settings. Navigate to Settings > Church Settings to view and modify the configuration.

Check-in Settings

Control how the check-in process works for your church:

Confirmation Codes

  • Enable Confirmation Codes: Toggle on to generate unique codes after each check-in.
  • Code Format: Choose length (4, 6, or 8 digits) and character set (numbers only or alphanumeric).
  • Code Prefix: Add a prefix like "VC-" to identify your codes.

Kiosk Mode

  • Enable Kiosk Mode: Allow self-service check-in via tablet or touchscreen.
  • Welcome Message: Customize the message shown on the kiosk home screen.
  • Required Fields: Set which fields new visitors must complete.

Visitor Status Settings

Configure how visitor status progresses:

  • Automatic Status Advancement: Enable to automatically move visitors from First-Time to Second-Time to Third-Time based on visit count.
  • Days Until Inactive: Set the number of days without a visit before a visitor is marked Inactive (default: 90 days).
  • Service Types That Count: Choose which service types contribute to status progression.

Follow-up Settings

Control automated follow-up behavior:

  • Enable Automated Follow-up: Toggle to activate automatic task creation and email sequences.
  • First-Visit Follow-up Window: Set how many hours after a first visit to create a follow-up task (default: 48 hours).
  • Assignment Rules: Configure automatic visitor-to-staff assignment based on geography, demographics, or round-robin distribution.

Privacy and Data Settings

  • Data Retention: Set how long to keep records for inactive visitors before archival.
  • GDPR Compliance: Enable features for European data protection compliance, including consent tracking and data export rights.
  • Visitor Data Sharing: Control whether visitor data can be shared with integrated third-party services.

Notification Settings

Configure church-wide notification preferences:

  • New Visitor Alert: Send an email to admins when a first-time visitor is checked in.
  • Task Overdue Alert: Notify supervisors when follow-up tasks become overdue.
  • Weekly Summary: Send a weekly digest of visitor activity to leadership.

Integration Settings

Manage connections to external systems:

  • Church Management System: Connect to your ChMS for data sync.
  • Calendar Integration: Sync events with Google Calendar or Outlook.
  • Webhook URL: Configure webhooks for custom integrations.
Caution: Changes to church settings can affect how VisiConnect operates for all users. Review changes carefully and consider testing in a non-production environment first if possible.

Exporting Settings

Administrators can export the current church settings as a JSON file for backup or transfer to another account. Click Export Settings at the bottom of the settings page.
